This Year's Model Updates:

The Hyundai Santa Fe has been redesigned for the 2007 model year. Compared to last year's model, the new Santa Fe is larger, safer, more powerful and more luxurious.

Pros:
  • Upscale interior with high-quality materials, competitive price, long warranty, many standard safety features, optional third-row seat.
Cons:
  • Overly firm ride on SE and Limited trims, automatic transmission sometimes slow to respond, unimpressive brakes.

My first "new" car & I have had nothing but issues. I bought it used with 15k. I have had it less than 3 years now & have had to replace the tires 4 times & have to get an alignment every 4 months...I only do hwy driving! My catalytic converters just went out at $1300 a piece & I only have 60k on the car....thank god for the federal law that is making them replace it. I always have issues with the sensors, car doesnt start in the cold & nuts & bolts seem to always fall off of it. I am on my way to pick up my car from the shop (97 miles away) & am going to trade it in on something that is NOT a HYUNDAI!

  • is it a lemon? - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

1.5 months of ownership (2500 miles) the car broke down on the road. Due to the lack of parts the repair took 2 weeks (3cat converters and 2 O2 sensors). Two weeks later the car broke down again this time it was a computer module and a disconected wire. While driving car home from the dealer I noticed that the engine noise was so loud the I could not hear the radio. It is now back at the dealer waiting for repair for the 3rd time.

Our 1st SUV- not used to hopping up into it. For the price, warranty it seems to be a good choice. Compared with Ford Escape, CRV, RAV 4 and others. Needs some thins added- HUD, P3, interior lighting, etc

  • Not What I Thought? Confused - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

Lots of inner noise - sqeeks when hitting bumps. Auto lights feature doesnt always work correctly. Some of the noise come from the CHEAP Brigestone Dueller 2 tires on the vehicle - would definitely change to Michelans or Good Year Eagles

  • This Car Has Issues! - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe

The car looks great, but it might be overrated. I have only had my car for less than a month and I have to bring it in a second time for the engine light. The dealer keeps telling me its not a problem, and then adds 40 miles to my car before giving it back. Towne Hyundai has a terrible service department. They pretty much told me to ignore the light unless it turns on again, and its on again. Plus now when I drive it that smooth new car feeling is gone already. You can feel the car shifting into gear. Too bad they wont call me back to fix it.

  • Wave of Problems at 4 Year Mark - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

Problems started mounting right after 60,000 mile warranty mark. First problems with rattling in front end and sway bars, then problems with electrical failure. Not satisfied that paying thousands of dollars in repair costs for relatively new car. Reading reviews, have found that many issues start right after warranty ends on Hyundais. Wont be buying Hyundai again.

  • Chronic Sensor Problems - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

Although a comfortable car, I have had chronic problems with the sensors since it reached about 13,000 miles. I currently only have 21,000 miles, and yet it has been in the shop three times this summer, and probably 8 times last summer. Every time they think they have found which sensor it is, a few weeks later the check engine light comes on after the car starts hesitating and what seems like misfiring. When you pay $26000 for a new car, you should be able to rely on it when you still have such low mileage.

  • Catalytic Converter Gone Already? - 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I was first impressed, but quickly disappointed. After owning the vehicle for 2 weeks, the rear right tail light had built up condensation. Then the check engine light came on and found out that the Catalytic converter was bad....how can that be? I do not even have 8 thousand miles on the vehicle and I am dumping it. Oh yeah...one more thing...the stupid visor on the passengers side fell completely off...just hanging by a few wires.
